What Is a Silhouette InstaLift?
- Posted on: Apr 15 2024
Silhouette InstaLift is a thread-lifting technique that’s a non-surgical alternative to a face lift. It provides an immediate tightening and lifting effect on your face by attaching dissolvable sutures to the skin, which lifts areas with mild sagging. This benefit helps resolve loose, crepey skin and also stimulates collagen production for long-term results.
Overview
Loose, drooping skin is a natural part of the aging process that occurs in the skin over time. The appearance of our skin is also determined by individual factors like hormonal changes, stress and weight fluctuations. A variety of procedures are available to slow the aging process, including non-surgical alternatives like Silhouette InstaLift.
The threads used in Silhouette InstaLift combine resorbable sutures with bidirectional cones made of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) and poly-L-glycolic acid (PLGA), which are sugars that will eventually dissolve. Once inserted into the skin, these threads suspend sagging tissue. The cones also stimulate collagen production, which tightens the skin.
Who Is a Good Candidate for Silhouette InstaLift?
Silhouette InstaLift is best for patients with early signs of aging who want preventive maintenance to slow the aging process.
The best candidates will also have thin skin and pronounced skin laxity. An experienced plastic surgeon like Dr. Tarbet will need to formally evaluate patients to see if they’re a good candidate for thread lifting procedures, including Silhouette InstaLift.
Procedure
A surgeon begins a Silhouette InstaLift by marking and numbing the treatment area. The threads are then attached to microscopic needles that give the surgeon precise control over the lifting and tightening of the skin. The patient’s body then absorbs the threads and cones over the next few months as new collagen forms, further lifting the skin.
How Long Does Silhouette InstaLift Last?
The results of Silhouette InstaLift are caused by the threads themselves and the additional collagen they produce. The benefits from the threads typically peak after about six months, but they can last up to two years. However, the benefits from the collagen can provide long-term benefits, depending on the patient’s natural collagen production.
