FaceTite in Bellevue & Seattle, Washington

What is FaceTite?

The loss of collagen and elastin is a normal part of the aging process. As the body uses up the vital nutrients it has stored, we begin to see more lines on the skin and loosening in areas like the jowls and neck. Historically, plastic surgery has been the primary option for people interested in reversing these signs of aging. Now we have FaceTite, which Dr. Tarbet is proud to offer at our Bellevue, WA office. FaceTite is an innovative, nonsurgical procedure that tightens the skin and increases the production of collagen using controlled radiofrequency. But not just any radiofrequency, a process referred to as radiofrequency-assisted lipolysis, RFAL.

How does FaceTite work?

The FaceTite procedure is performed using a local anesthetic and sedation. A few injections completely numb the treatment area, after which a small puncture is made just below the ear. This puncture is so small that it should not leave a scar once it has healed. The doctor inserts a thin probe beneath the skin. The probe is capped at the end to prevent tissue trauma or perforation. Parallel to the internal probe is an external arm that holds an electrode. To stimulate tissue tightening, the doctor inserts the internal probe to its full length then slowly withdraws it. As this motion is made, radiofrequency waves pass between the parallel arms. The energy is “sandwiched” between them, affecting multiple layers of the skin and achieving uniform results across the lower face and neck areas.

Who is the ideal candidate for FaceTite?

Adults with mild to moderate signs of facial aging can receive outstanding benefits from the FaceTite procedure, which is commonly referred to as a nonsurgical facelift. This treatment has demonstrated the ability to correct the signs of aging in the face and neck area, including jowls, submental fullness, and crepe-like, loose neck skin. Patients can expect a consultation and assessment of the treatment area before receiving a recommendation. Our goal is to fully understand the cosmetic concerns and desired outcome so that we may develop a customized treatment plan for each person. Treatment is not suitable for pregnant women, nor for adults with serious health conditions such as heart disease or morbid obesity. Ideal candidates do not smoke.

If you would describe yourself as a mid-range patient who has developed signs of aging skin such as nasolabial folds, loose jowls and skin on the upper neck, submental fullness or drooping skin below the chin, or marionette lines, you may be an excellent candidate for FaceTite. The best way to know is to schedule a consultation with Dr. Tarbet at our friendly, professional practice.

How long does a FaceTite procedure take?

Because the FaceTite procedure takes place under an injected local anesthetic, there is no extensive wait time as there is with a topical numbing agent. The injected medication works within a few minutes, after which the FaceTite procedure is complete in an hour to hour-and-a-half. If the procedure is planned to include sedation, the patient will need to have a loved-one bring them to their appointment and drive them home afterward.

Are there any risks associated with Facetite?

The FaceTite RFAL device has been developed for safety and efficiency. The applicator handpiece provides real-time electronic feedback to the provider, so we are constantly aware of the uniformity of heat beneath the skin. The FDA-cleared device also features an automatic shutoff mechanism that prevents overheating. Because the procedure technically does not involve incisions, the risk of infection is very low and stitches are typically not necessary to achieve optimal healing. The risk of scarring is also very low.

How long will my FaceTite results last?

After the FaceTite procedure, the body continues to produce healthy new collagen and elastin for several months. This activity leads to significant tissue remodeling and rejuvenation that can last 3 to 5 years. Patients may help prolong their results by wearing sunscreen every day and maintaining a healthy lifestyle that provides the building blocks to resilient skin.
