The Basics of Neck Liposuction
- Posted on: Aug 15 2019
One of the most frustrating things about aging is that even if you are thin and live an active lifestyle, your body can still store fat in unexpected places like your neck. If you are at your ideal weight, but you still have a double chin, then you may be wondering how on earth you can get rid of it. Here at our office, we offer the perfect solution for you: neck lipo.
What’s Neck Liposuction?
Liposuction is commonly thought of as a treatment to treat people who are clinically obese. However, it’s designed to help people who are of a healthy weight but who have stubborn, excess fat that they can’t get rid of on certain parts of their bodies. Because of this, that’s why neck liposuction makes perfect sense.
During this surgical procedure, we may recommend one of three common options which usually involves inserting a small tube into the fatty area to help break up the fat and suction it out.
●Super-wet technique: Saline and adrenaline are injected into the area, making the fat easier to break up and remove. The fluid also minimizes bleeding, damage, and swelling in the surrounding tissues, as well as pain.
●Tumescent technique: Similar to the super-wet technique but with larger amounts of fluid injected.
●Ultrasound Assisted Liposuction (UAL): A technique which uses sound waves to liquefy the fat after the injection of fluids. It has the same benefits as the super-wet and tumescent techniques and is useful for fibrous areas of the body.
What Are the Benefits?
Liposuction remains one of the most popular plastic surgeries in the country for a variety of reasons, including the act that it works. After you get liposuction, you should notice almost immediate results even though you may have a little bit of inflammation. Once the inflammation has settled down, you should notice that you have a more contoured neckline and no more fat.
Although liposuction can’t prevent fat from coming back, it is less likely to store itself there once it has been removed.
