Welcome to our practice. My name is Brian Phan, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to care for you as part of Dr. Kristin Tarbet’s oculofacial plastic and reconstructive team here in Bellevue. As a board-certified Physician Assistant, I provide pre- and post-operative care, manage dry eye disease, and perform in-office procedures including Botox, chalazion removals, and eyelid lesion excisions.
My career began in ophthalmology, where I worked as a corneal transplant technician and ophthalmic assistant before completing my PA training and ophthalmology rotation through the University of Washington MEDEX Program. These experiences strengthened my appreciation for precision, safety, and natural-looking results, principles that guide every patient interaction.
Alongside my clinical career, I serve in the U.S. Army Reserve as a Civil Affairs Officer and previously as a Company Commander. In this role, I work directly with local communities internationally, where success depends on building trust, forming genuine relationships, and understanding people’s needs through active listening and cultural awareness. The same skills that help strengthen partnerships overseas naturally shape my approach to patient care. I believe that effective medicine begins with trust, clear communication, and meeting patients where they are.
Outside of medicine, I enjoy learning new languages and travelling overseas to connect with communities around the world. I am fluent in Vietnamese and currently studying Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. When not in the clinic or abroad, you’ll often find me on the mountain snowboarding/skiing or powerlifting in the gym.
