Seattle Eyelid Surgery

If the appearance of sagging eyelids is impairing your vision or causing you to look tired all the time, eyelid surgery, or "blepharoplasty," can enhance the eyes, diminishing signs of facial aging. Commonly combined with complementary procedures, such as facelift surgery ("rhytidectomy"), brow lift surgery ("forehead lift"), or lip enhancement, the eyelid surgery procedure can create a more defined, rejuvenated look. Kristin J. Tarbet, M.D., F.A.C.S. of Bellevue frequently performs eyelid surgery to improve vision problems and droopy eyes. Often serving the areas of Kirkland and Seattle, eyelid surgery professional Dr. Tarbet can help you achieve long-lasting, more youthful results.

Seattle Eyelid Surgery Specialist

During a consultation, our Seattle eyelid surgery specialist Dr. Tarbet, will listen carefully to your needs and desires, and help to prepare a personalized surgery plan. Typically, eyelid surgery is performed by making incisions in the crease of the upper eyelids and just below the lashes in the lower eyelids. Dr. Tarbet will remove excess fat and skin, and closure of the incisions will be made with flesh-colored, self-absorbable sutures to minimize scarring. Depending on the patient's need for complementary procedures, the surgery lasts between one to three hours.

Individuals with minimal signs of aging may be good candidates for the transconjunctival blepharoplasty, which only corrects the lower eyelids; this technique is appropriate for someone with thicker, more elastic skin. During this eyelid surgery procedure, Dr. Tarbet will make an incision inside the lower eyelid, and remove excess fat, while leaving no visible scarring.

She will further discuss your eyelid surgery options during an initial appointment. A Seattle Facelift Surgeon, Dr. Tarbet can also provide you with information on the Quick Lift ™ procedure, which is designed to improve signs of facial aging in the jowls and neck. It is less invasive than the traditional facelift procedure ("rhytidectomy"). Also available at her Seattle practice is eyebrow lift surgery; this procedure is performed to correct droopy eyebrows and creasing in the forehead.
