What Is in Bellafill?
The majority of dermal fillers are made of an ingredient called hyaluronic acid. Bellafill, however, is made primarily of collagen. In fact, Bellafill is made up of 80% collagen and 20% PMMA microspheres. As you age, your skin starts to stop producing collagen which can leave your cheeks looking a little bit deflated. When we inject a filler that contains collagen into your skin, it helps to give you a more revitalized and youthful look.
How Does Bellafill Work?
With traditional fillers, they are injected into the skin and then they eventually wear off. Bellafill works a bit differently. The collagen in Bellafill provides immediate volume and lift. Then, over a couple of weeks, the collagen is naturally absorbed by the body while the PMMA microspheres support the production of collagen and connective tissue by your own skin cells.
